December Happenings

I tried really hard to make December magical this year so the boys could really get into the Christmas spirit since we weren't flying to Indiana until Christmas Eve.
We started off with the annual spudnuts the day after Thanksgiving at the Calders.
Jake loved cooking and eating them.

Then it was back to our house to decorate.
This was our first year with a full sized Christmas tree and stockings!
It was so fun to have them up all month.
I also got the boys Christmas pjs to open that month so they could wear them all month.

Then for my birthday Ryan planned out the whole month full of dates, family activities and girls nights.
It was an amazing gift and made for an amazing month.
The first weekend, we went an saw Jim Gaffigin with Ryan's parents, did Jubilee of Trees, took the boys to Zoo Lights, and I got to go to the Christmas Devotional at the Conference Center.

The next weekend we went to Luminaria at Thanksgiving Point with our friends Mckell and Sari.
I loved the life of Christ lights and it was great to have a good remind about what this season is all about.

That week Jake and I made some Christmas cookies.
He is actually starting to be a help in the kitchen instead of just a mess maker!

The following weekend our friends from Wisconsin (who now live in Vegas) came to visit.
We had fun playing Pandemic, hitting up an Escape Room, and showing them the lights at Temple Square.
We ate way too much food but it was fun to see them!

It was an amazing month!
Ryan seriously hit a home run with the birthday gift this year!
He even managed to squeeze in some work on the basement.
We added heating vents and started framing in the mechanical room to make the basement a safer and warmer place to play.
