Halloween 2017

The boys made my life easy this year and they chose outfits we already had, score!
Jake was a chef and Logan was a firefighter.
Elsie was a bumblebee even though she didn't do any trick-or-treating.
I had just gotten sick with my two week plague so I spent the day in bed.
Ryan took the boys trick-or-treating and Ralph came up to help handing out candy.
The boys lasted about an hour but they loved every minute of it!

Pumpkin Nights

Ryan and I took the boys to pumpkin nights this year.
They loved it!
They were so excited by all the pumpkins.
They loved digging for their own pumpkins and riding the balance bikes.
It was a fun night with the boys!

EMC:: Name and a Blessing

Ryan had a rough week leading up to Elsie's blessing.
He spent the week in bed with pneumonia.
Thankfully he was feeling well enough to still give Elsie her blessing.
It was a beautiful blessing and I feel so blessed to be her mom.

Elsie is named after some of Ryan's ancestors.
Elsie had three still born children that Ryan and I were able to seal to her.
Ever since then I've had a connection to that name.

May is Ryan's great grandma.

Elsie's dress is made from my wedding dress.
It is so fun to pass along that special dress.

We had our entire family in attendance which was awesome plus my grandparents.
After sacrament meeting everyone came back to our house for Belgian waffles.
It was a wonderful day!

Cornbelly's

During Ryan's plague with pneumonia my mom came to visit for Elsie's blessing.
It was a huge blessing to have her here!
While she was here we took all the kids to Cornbelly's.
The boys loved it and Elsie was such a trooper.
She slept most of the time.
It was fun to do a fall activity.

FHE at Jaker's

We continued the tradition of family night at Jaker's with the Calder's.
The boys love Jaker's and were even more excited this year.
They loved the corn pit, corn maze, slides, and petting zoo.
It was so cute to watch them pick out their pumpkins.

After Jaker's we headed to Calders for soup and pumpkin decorating.
It was a great night but would have been better if Ryan could come.
Pneumonia ruined October for Ryan.

EMC:: 2 Months

We made it to two months!
I love this part because I finally feel like a normal human again.
Elsie is a sweetheart and I absolutely adore her smile.

Stats from CheckUp
Weight: 10 lbs 5 oz (23rd Percentile)
Height: 22.75 inches (66th Percentile)
Head Circumference: 15.25 inches (69th Percentile)

She is still my smallest child (at least by weight).
She is definitely long though and doesn't fit as well laying on my lap.
She made it through her immunizations like a champ.
Her legs were a little sore the first day but she had no rotavirus side effects, hooray!

Sleeping
Elsie only wakes up once per night, hallejuah!
Its usually between 4-6am so I get a good stretch of sleep.
Thanks to her later waking at night she sleeps in until 8:30-9am which is great since daylight savings is coming next month.
She takes at least three (sometimes four) naps per day.
She will now fall asleep on her own too!
I love that I can lay her down awake and she will put herself to sleep.
She rubs her head back and forth on my shoulder when she is ready to be laid down.
Wake time is usually around 50 minutes.

Feeding
No change here.
Still six feedings a day 2.5-3.5 hours apart (usually 3 hours).

Playing
She smiles whenever I look at her.
She is starting to chat with you (well cooing anyways)
and she is starting to giggle.

She discovered her hands and likes to suck on them.
She will wiggle her arm out of her swaddle to suck on her ring and middle finger.

Her brothers still adore her.
They always want to take pictures with her and hold her.
If I lay her down they come running to be in her space.

She love mobiles especially the birds above her changing table.
She giggled the first time she discovered them.
She is gaining more coordination with her arms.

She is such a sweet and mellow baby.
We love you Elsie!
