Halloween 2021

The Halloween festivities started a little early this year.
About a week before Halloween we had our first Calder family Halloween Party.
The had a black carpet with music for everyone to unveil their costumes.
Ralph, Kris, Bailey, and Bridget went all our with their inflatable pig costumes and dance.
We were a family of birds with Ryan and I being the nest.
They had a fabulous spread of food with the soup in an actual pumpkin.
They had cute games lined up for the kids and they loved it!

For trick or treating this year the boys lasted their longest yet of 1.5 hours!
Their buckets were full to the brim.
Thankfully they were willing to trade it in for tickets to a jazz game.
We had beautiful weather that night and it was actually enjoyable to be outside.

JLC :: 18 Months

Stats from Checkup

Weight: 22.88 lbs (52nd Percentile)
Height: 32.25" (61st Percentile)
Head Circumference: 18.75" (83rd Percentile)

Sleeping
Jaylee is sleeping 12 hours at night and takes one nap each day.
She goes down for her nap around 12:30/1pm and sleeps for about 2 hours.

Eating
Jaylee loves to eat what everyone else is eating.
If she catches you eating when she isn't she will follow after you saying, "A Bite! A Bite!"
She is a really good eater and will eat pretty much anything I give her.
She is getting a little pickier so she doesn't always eat her veggie or the main protein.
She loves popcorn, fruits, fruit snacks, and whatever you are eating.

Playing
Jaylee is so playful right now.
She tries to mimic what everyone else is playing.
She likes to make me food from the play kitchen and to carry around bags.

She loves to be outside.
She is always up for a walk, playing at the park, or even just being in our yard.
If she hears anyone talk about going outside she brings you her shoes.

She is very vocal right now.
She will repeat whatever she wants over and over until she gets it.
For example she will follow me around calling mommy until I pick her up.
My favorite things that she says right now are: "a bite," "ready, set go" "a shoes, a go"

She loves being around her family and is finally starting to warm up to other people.

She does a great job for independent playtime each day.

She loves baths (especially splashing)

Fall Break 2021

For fall break this year we went back to Moab.
We decided to do this to celebrate the Yukon reaching 200,000 miles!

We left Thursday morning and drove straight to Moab.
We got ice cream and walked around the river path until it was time to check in to our hotel.
After we checked in the capacity had reduced at Arches National Park so we were able to get that afternoon.
We hiked to double arch and turret arch.
That night we ate food I had brought in the hotel and the boys spend at lot of time playing basketball.

On Friday morning we got up and headed straight to Canyonlands National Park.
We hiked to the Mesa Arch and hit a couple view points.
We tried to do a longer hike but everyone was getting tired so we didn't make it very far.
We were back at the hotel that afternoon for naps and rest time.
We played more basketball at the hotel that afternoon.
For dinner we picked up pizza and headed to a park.

On Saturday we checked out of the hotel and drove to Goblin Valley State Park.
This was a huge hit with the kids last year so we made sure to go again.
We spent the morning climbing and running.
We played hide and seek and ate a picnic lunch.
When everyone was tired we loaded up and drove home.

It was a wonderful trip and went according to plan.
It was miraculous that we didn't have to wait hours to get into any of the parks!

On our last day of fall break (Monday) we drove down to Jakers and let the kids pick our pumpkins.
Nana and Papa came over to meet us.
We didn't get to do this tradition last year so the kids were extra excited this year.
