EMC:: 4 Months

Stats from Checkup
Weight: 12 lbs 2 oz (10th Percentile)
Height: 24 inches (39th Percentile)
Head Circumference: 16 inches (50th Percentile)

Sleeping
Waking up once per night between 5-6:30 am.
Taking four naps per day but really close to dropping the fourth one.
Last nap is only 45 minutes- 1 hour but the rest of the nap are 2-2.5 hours.
Some days she will really fight it and not fall asleep.
We are down to just swaddling one arm and she sucks her thumb.
She is still awake about 60 minutes in between naps.
Except at the end of the day which is closer to 75 minutes.

Feeding
No real change here.
She still nurses well and will occasionally drink formula (if she's really hungry).
She eats 5-6 times a day (6 if she wakes up at night).
She typically eats at 8:00am, 11:30am, 2:30pm, 5:30pm, and 8:00pm.

Playing
She rolled from belly to back twice but hasn't done it again.

She still loves to chew on her hands and take her socks off.
She is getting coordinated at grabbing toys.

We've tried the bumbo and exersaucer.
She likes them but only for a short amount of time because they are still a lot of work.

She loves to talk and smile with people.
She is not a cuddly baby but she is super social.

She loves pat-a-cake and itsy bitsy spider.

We love your infectious smile and laugh Eller Beller!

EMC:: 3 Months

Elsie's blessing mentioned that she would be a joy to her family and that is so true.
She is pure joy and so happy 95% of the time.
I can't imagine our family without her.

Sleeping
She just started extending her nights even more.
She is at 10-12 hours which is great but can also be a little tricky.
It is the hardest when she wakes at 11 hours because it is not her wake time yet and she isn't quite ready to be up for the day but won't eat very much only an hour later.
I usually feed her if she is pretty awake we start the day if not I'll feed her and put her back to bed and then wake her up at 8:30.
Sometimes she will also stay content in bed until 7:30 so we can start the day then.

She is still taking four naps a day that are usually 2-2.5 hours except for her last one which is about an hour.
She falls asleep on her own and doesn't even like that I hold her to sing to her.
She squirms until I lay her down.
She likes when I stroke her head after I lay her down.

Feeding
We are at 5-6 feedings a day (depending on if she has a "night" feeding)
She still won't eat sooner than 2.5 hours and it is usually closer to 3.5 hours.
She likes to hold my hand while she nurses.
Feeds are usually at 8:00, 11:30, 2:30, 5:30, and 8:00.
She still poops every time I feed her.

Playing
She has gotten so much more coordinated this month.
She can grab the toys on her play mat with her death grip.
She loves to put her hands in her mouth.
She sucks on her thumb on her right hand and her middle and ring finger on her left hand.

She is super smiley.
She smiles anytime someone looks at her.
She has the cutest giggle too!

She loves when her brothers come lay by her to play.
Logan is still a little crazy around her but Jake is super sweet.
He loves to "babysit" her while I get somethings done.

Leaf Expedition up the Canyon

Ryan got home early one Friday so we headed to dinner at Tower Deli.
After dinner we went to look at Fall colors up the canyon.
It was chilly but so beautiful.
We love when Ryan is home with us!

Halloween 2017

The boys made my life easy this year and they chose outfits we already had, score!
Jake was a chef and Logan was a firefighter.
Elsie was a bumblebee even though she didn't do any trick-or-treating.
I had just gotten sick with my two week plague so I spent the day in bed.
Ryan took the boys trick-or-treating and Ralph came up to help handing out candy.
The boys lasted about an hour but they loved every minute of it!

Pumpkin Nights

Ryan and I took the boys to pumpkin nights this year.
They loved it!
They were so excited by all the pumpkins.
They loved digging for their own pumpkins and riding the balance bikes.
It was a fun night with the boys!

EMC:: Name and a Blessing

Ryan had a rough week leading up to Elsie's blessing.
He spent the week in bed with pneumonia.
Thankfully he was feeling well enough to still give Elsie her blessing.
It was a beautiful blessing and I feel so blessed to be her mom.

Elsie is named after some of Ryan's ancestors.
Elsie had three still born children that Ryan and I were able to seal to her.
Ever since then I've had a connection to that name.

May is Ryan's great grandma.

Elsie's dress is made from my wedding dress.
It is so fun to pass along that special dress.

We had our entire family in attendance which was awesome plus my grandparents.
After sacrament meeting everyone came back to our house for Belgian waffles.
It was a wonderful day!
