October Visitors

We were lucky to have both sets of grandparents come and visit this month.
Ryan's parents came at the beginning of the month.
We went to Apple Holler, played in the tent, flew kites, played at the park, and played our hearts out.
Jake was so worn out by the last day he didn't want to go anywhere!
He spent the last day snuggled on Nana's lap reading stories.

At the end of the month my parents came.
My mom was amazing and helped potty train Jake.
It was awesome having an extra set of hands and the experience of a trained professional.
She will now be known as the Potty Whisperer!
My dad fueled my "Big Ideas" list and helped me dogged out the shrubs in the front yard, pick out new house lights, and get my family photo wall done.

JPC Update

It's been awhile since I've talked about my favorite toddler so this post is dedicated to him.
He is so helpful and obedient.
He amazes me everyday with how much he knows and has learned.

He moved out of the crib and has done awesome in his new bed.
He hasn't gotten out once!
He even makes his bed!
As soon as he wakes up he tells me his bed is really messy and he needs to make it.

He loves tools!
On Saturday Ryan needed to make some repairs to our lawn mower so Jake went out to help.
Since then he has asked everyday to go outside and work on Dad's lawnmower.
"Do you need your pliers dad?"

He had a date with Dad to a class at the Zoo all about trains.
They did crafts related to trains, toured around the zoo, and then went to Fuddruckers for lunch.
He came home just beaming!

Anytime we sit down to eat he always thanks me for making breakfast/lunch/dinner.
It is so sweet and melts my heart.

He always wants to empty the silverware and mow the lawn.
He is amazing at cleaning up his toys without any help.
Usually he just keeps working without any reminders until everything is put away.

He walks around the house singing songs.
His favorites are "Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star", "Book of Mormon Stories" and "I Am a Child of God."

He loves to be outside and has gotten much more adventurous this year.
He learned how to hang from bars and to swing on his belly.
No weather can stop him from wanting to play outside.
He likes splashing in puddles.

He has a love of trucks.
We're always on the lookout for excavators.
He will now push cars around when he plays.

He likes to play in his kitchen.
He is always making food for us and his animals.
His current specialty is salads!
He is really excited for Halloween and has been practice trick-or-treating.
He loves to carry around my pumpkin decorations in his bucket.

He is the best big brother.
He is always looking out for Logan and is so gentle with him.
He loves to hold Logan and give him hugs.
He cheers when Logan learns a new skill.
The other day Logan was finally holding his head up during tummy time and Jake ran over and said, "Logan you got your head up really tall.  Good job Logan!"

He still doesn't play with other kids.
In nursery I always find him in the corner doing his own thing.
I think he is just too mellow and the activities are stimulating enough just to watch.

I love you Jacob!
Thank you for being such a sweet boy!

General Conference

With our new callings it was so nice to have a Sunday at home to relax and watch conference.
The boys did pretty good considering how long they had to sit or play by themselves.
Jake loved his new "surprise" to help him get through conference,

And Ryan loved the time he had to just sit and hold Logan.

We loved the messages and left feeling rejuvenated and ready to go and do.
We love conference weekend!
