JPC:: 3 Years

I cannot believe my baby is three!
Jake is so kind and thoughtful.
He loves letters and numbers.
He can count to twenty and last week counted to 100 by tens.
He still loves to play on his tummy.
Its getting harder to do now that Logan can crawl into his space.

He is always willing to help clean or work on a project.
He is an amazing big brother.
He loves to play right next to Logan, give him hugs and kisses, and bring him new toys.

He is a chatter box and talks all day long.
He has an incredible memory and is very routine oriented.
Every morning he asks me, "What tomorrow is?" and "What are we having for dinner?"
He loves nursery and likes to try different wards when Ryan has to travel throughout the stake.
He loves the zoo and has been attending classes there.

He loves anything involving food.
He favorite thing to play is chef.
He makes food all day in his kitchen and sets up picnics.

He draws pictures of food and is always up to eat anytime he sees someone eating.

He is now potty trained!
We did at at 2.5 yrs and he did awesome!
A month later he stopped wearing diapers at nap and two months later he stopped wearing them at night.
He rarely has accidents!
He is still using the little potty but can dump and flush by himself.

He loves to sing and I am amazed at how many songs he has memorized!
He also has some pretty adorable dance moves.
He enjoys having dance parties while we do the dishes after dinner.

He has developed quite the imagination.
He loves to act out shows he has seen or books he has read.
Sometimes I even catch him acting out interactions the two of us have had.
Being the peddler from Caps for Sale book
He loves to be outside.
Winter has been hard fro him because we haven't had very nice days and when the weather is nice we don't have a lot of time due to Logan's naps.
We are both looking forward to summer!

He had three birthday celebrations this year.
One the weekend before his birthday with my parents, one on his actual birthday, and one with our friends in Chicago the following weekend.
He was so excited for his birthday this year.
We let him pick out the party supplies and he choose:
blue hats, blue plates, a big blue bow, blue wrapping paper, a blue spider man balloon, and blue candles.
Can you guess what his favorite color is?

Birthday #1
He got a tee ball set from my parents.
Then as requested we went to dinner at Water Street Brewery and had strawberry cake.
Everyone also got to wear the blue hats he picked out.

Birthday #2 (Actual Birthday)
Ryan went into work late and we had pancakes for breakfast and opened presents.
He played with his new little people set all morning.
Then I took the boys to a new park for a picnic lunch.
Then it was home for naps before heading to Chick-fil-a for dinner.
That night we had cupcakes (as requested).

Birthday #3
This one was unexpected.
We went to visit our friends in Chicago and they had presents ready for him and cupcakes!
He loved having another birthday party and dinosaur cupcakes.
It was so good to see the McGowans again!
We enjoyed our time playing, eating Chicago pizza, and going to the park.

Happy Birthday Jake!

LRC:: 9 & 10 Months

With all the Utah craziness I missed Logan's 9 month post so I'll just have to do a double post!

I can't believe how much he has changed since birth.
His dark hair seems to be a thing of the past.
As I was cutting both boys' hair this week it looked the same on the floor!

Stats from 9 Month Check Up:
Weight: 18 lbs. 7 oz (25th percentile) low due to stomach flu the week before
Height: 29" (70th percentile)
Head Circumference: 46 cm (75th percentile)

His growth has slowed down and he is starting to thin out.
My little baby is morphing into a toddler!

Sleeping
We finally have a baby who sleeps 12 hours every night!
This was such a long process but I think we're finally there (knock on wood).
Even though he started sleeping 12 hours at around 3.5 months it was never consistent.
It is nice to finally have the boys in the same room and both sleeping 7pm-7am

Naps are also more consistent.
We are down to two naps that are each 1.5 hours long (one may be longer depending on the day).
He is awake two hours between naps.
Another wonderful sleep miracle occurred and both boys now nap at the same time!

Feeding
We started finger foods at nine months and Logan is in heaven.
So far it has just been soft fruits, cooked vegetables, cheerios, bread, and cheese.
This boys loves bread and cheese!
I still do pureed foods at breakfast and lunch but at dinner he just eats whatever we are having cut up small.

He can also drink from a straw which has really helped him drink more water.

Still nursing 4x's a day with a bottle at night.

Playing
This boy is a crawling machine!
Still army crawling but he is super fast.
He loves to be right at my feet.

He likes to be held but gets really wiggling try to reach and touch everything!

All toys go in the mouth.

Always takes his socks off as soon as we get in the car.

He can clap, wave, do the "so big" action, and sign "more"

He has six teeth (two on bottom and four on top)

He moved out of the infant carseat and no longer like to be in the jumper, exersaucer, etc.
He wants his freedom to move around!
Well more like follow me and try to guilt trip me into holding him.

Loves to wrestle Jake.
With his army crawling skills he can actually get on top of him now.

Doesn't mind being outside now.
Well as long as the stroller is moving and he is allowed to eat grass!
