Wow that first month flew by!
Probably because of the sleep deprivation zombie that I become.
I can't believe how big Logan has gotten.
He doesn't look like a newborn anymore.
He is ready to move to size 2 diapers but we are trying to finish off the last of our size 1.
I weighed him last night out of curiosity and he is almost 14 lbs!
FEEDING
Logan is eating six times during the day 2-3 hours apart.
I think he would be fine on a 3 hour schedule but I like to tank him up so he'll hopefully sleep longer at night.
He usually goes about 6 hours (one night as much as 8) between feeds.
So now I'm only waking up once around 2 am!
He has a lot of gas and was very difficult to burp.
It was hard because you would get him sleepy and lay him down but five minutes later he would wake up screaming with another bubble.
I cut out chocolate (so depressing!) and we rub his back instead of patting it and it seems to help.
By now though I think his digestive system has just matured enough that it isn't as big of an issue.
Because of the gas he was a pokey eater.
He would eat for about 30 seconds then pull off and then come right back on, eat for 30 seconds and pull off again.
After that happened a few times I would burp him and sure enough he'd have massive burps.
Our feeds originally took almost an hour.
However this week he seemed to have figured it out and they now last 20 minutes!
SLEEPING
Logan is pretty good at sleeping.
He doesn't get as upset as Jake did when he misses a nap.
This past week we have actually been able to lay him down awake for most naps and he'll fall asleep on his own.
I just have to make sure that I start putting him to bed after he's been awake for 50 minutes.
The only time that he is really difficult to get to sleep is after his last feeding of the day.
Sometimes it takes almost 2 hours to put him to sleep and usually we have to let him cry for about 10 minutes to wear him out.
The pacifier definitely helps him fall asleep and I think he'll be a thumb sucker too as soon as we stop swaddling him.
SCHEDULE
Logan has been much easier to get on a schedule but it it probably just because I need to schedule his feedings so that they work with Jake's schedule.
With Jake I didn't care as much because I could sleep whenever he slept but now my only chance to nap is when Jake does so I've really tried to sync those up.
This past week that finally happened!
Logan now eats at 7/7:30 am, 10 am, 12 pm, 2:30/3 pm, 5 pm, and 7 pm with one night feed (maybe two on a rough night)
SIBLINGS
Jake has been so good with Logan.
Whenever we are changing Logan's diaper Jake will bring us a clean one.
He is always trying to bring Logan a stuffed animal and loves to lay next to Logan on the floor.
One day Logan was upset and Jake laid down next to him and sang twinkle, twinkle little star.
Jake has been so patient since he has to wait a lot more.
Jake always wants to give Logan and kiss and "check" on him.
Logan is a sweet baby and really easy going.
He has been the perfect addition to our family.
I feel so blessed to be his mom.
He has been so patient with me as I figure out this mother of two thing!
