JPC::13-14 Months

It has been way too long since I've written one of these!
Hopefully I can remember everything
I feel like Jake has changed so much these past two months!
He is a huge fan of his dad.  Ryan had to speak on Sunday and anytime Jake caught a glimpse of him sitting on the stand he would sign please, reach for Ryan and then start crying when I wouldn't take him to Ryan.

Playing
This kid's gross motor skills are growing by leaps and bounds.
He still army crawls and is pretty fast.
He has tried crawling on all fours but it seems like he prefers the army crawl because he can carry "treasures" around in his hand.

He can crawl up the stairs by himself (Help!)

He pulls himself up on everything.
The fireplace
Coffee table
Chairs
Oh and my favorite, me.
I seriously have become a jungle gym for this kid.

Around 13 months he figured out how to go from crawling back to seated and that has really helped him during his independent play time.

He just started walking around by himself.
He still needs a lot of supervision since his balance isn't always the best.
He favorite game is to walk back and forth between me and Ryan when we are sitting on the floor.

He is currently obsessed with taking things in and out!
I have crap all over my house.
Everything must come off the shelf or out of the basket.
Because of his new obsession he loves puzzles.
He tries to put the pieces back in but usually can't and gets really frustrated.

He loves his alphabet and number puzzle and I'm finding letters all over the house thanks to his ability to crawl around with "treasures"
The other day I found two letters in his closet!
He actually seems to have a favorite letter and number.
He always goes straight for the "o" and the "0".
If those can't be found he'll settle for the "D" and the "8"
Carrying the zero around.

He can stack blocks now.
He can make a tower of 3 blocks without help but to go higher I need to straighten out the blocks for him.

He loves to read books.
He will just sit on the floor in his room and look at books!
When I read him books he NEEDS to the turn page and usually it's a battle trying to get him to wait to turn the page until I've finished reading it.

He has mastered a few signs.
Please, all done, more and eat.
Occasionally he will sign milk.
For awhile he only knew please and so now he signs that whenever he wants something.
He will finally wave hello or goodbye consistently.
All Done
Please

He loves the water.
We've gone to the lake and pool and he would get so mad anytime we tried to take him out.
He likes to swim around on his belly in the tub.
He thinks splashing water is hilarious!

Sleeping
He is still sleeping like a champ at night (6:30pm-7am).
We are starting to transition to one nap a day.
Currently he still needs two naps every other day.
On a two nap day he naps from 9:30-11 and from 2:30-4.
When he take one nap it is usually from 10:30-1:30.
I love sleeping babies!  They are so precious!

Feeding
Jake eats anything you put in front of him.
Currently he gets really upset if he isn't eating what we're eating so I've just started giving him exactly what we have for dinner.
It makes it so much easier not to have to prepare two meals.
A couple weeks ago he finally started drinking milk from a sippy cup.
I don't know what changed but now he pounds the milk instead of just taking a sip and throwing it on the floor.
By 13 months he was officially weaned from nursing and a bottle at night.
We still give him milk in a cup before getting him ready for bed though.
I love my little pre-toddler!
