Memorial Day at Happy Return

We planned a very last minute trip up to the Cabin
Very last minute as in an hour before we left!
Seems to be a trend for us lately but oh well!

We had a splendid time with family.
The kids got to play with my cousins.
We snuck in a couple hike and enjoyed the beautiful scenery.

It was a wonderful trip up to Happy Return followed by delicious ribs at the Calders for Sunday dinner.
On Monday we did a lot more measuring and planning for our big concrete project.
That evening the Calders came up to give us their feedback and we had a fire and smores.
I love three day weekends!

EMC:: 9 Months

Stats from Checkup for my petite little bean
Weight: 14 lbs (3rd Percentile)
Height: 26.5 inches (11th Percentile)
Head Circumference: 17.5 inches (67th Percentile)
At least she has the traditional huge head all my kids have had haha!

Sleeping
She is sleeping great at night.
She sleep 7pm-7am and rarely wakes up in the middle of the night.
Some days she is up by 6am but will be content in bed until 7am.

She is down to two naps each day.
Her naps are 1.5-2.5 hours longs.
She usually naps from 8:45-10:30 and from 12:45-3:00ish.

Feeding
She is nursing four times a day with an extra 4oz bottle before bed.
She eats solids at breakfast, lunch and dinner with a finger food snack after her second nap.
She loves finger foods!
In fact she squawks whenever her tray is empty.
She does purees of green beans, peas, carrots, sweet potato, squash, pear, apple, mango, prune, peach, blueberry, avocado, chicken, and zucchini.
She has tried finger foods of cooked carrots, frozen peas, cooked green bean, cooked broccoli, cooked asparagus, cooked sweet potato, blueberries, grapes, pears, banana, mango, noodles, cheese, quesadilla, cheerios, bread, rice, black beans, and eggs.
At dinner we've been giving her some cut up version of what we're having.

Playing
Still no teeth for this little cheeser.

She loves to roll and is trying so hard to scoot to reach things.

She squawks at you whenever she feels she is being ignored.

She still loves to be in the baby carrier.

She loves playing with her brothers.

Loves to splash in the tube.

She is a momma's girl but is fine with others as long as she can't see or hear me.

Still puts everything in her mouth.

Super happy and loves to interact with others.

We love our little open-mouthed peanut!

JPC:: 5th Birthday

As per usual we got to celebrate this cute boy a lot!
The Sunday before his birthday we had dinner with the Calders and he chose to have dirt cups.

The day before his birthday they celebrated at school.
He chose to bring in cupcakes and loved wearing his birthday hat.
That night Ryan's parents took him out for ice cream.

Ryan took the day off work to celebrate on Jake's actual birthday.
We opened presents and spent most of the day practicing on his new bike!
He made great progress and also got to play with Mya.

We gave Jacob the option to have a friend party or to get a big present from us.
Without even batting an eye he said he wanted a big gift from us.
So that he could still celebrate with friends we invited his friends to the park for cake on his birthday.
He chose to bring his red truck too to give truck drives.

Happy 5th Jacob!

JPC:: 5 Years

Stats from Checkup
Weight: 40 lbs (48th Percentile)
Height: 44 inches (73rd Percentile)

Sleeping
Jake doesn't take a nap and rest time has shorten to 30 minutes.
He sleeps great at night and is still on the 7pm-7am schedule.
Most mornings he wakes up around 6:30am but will stay in bed quiet until Logan wakes up.

Feeding
Jake has moved through most of his picky phase.
He still has a few dinners he doesn't like but usually eats whatever we're having.
He loves to eat and it is amazing how much food he can eat.
He loves pizza, tacos, hot dogs, and chicken pasta.
He's always down for a snack or second breakfast.

School
Jake started his first year of preschool at four and a half.
He has loved school and has made a lot of new friends.
He has mastered all his letters, learned to cut, and is reading at a first grade level.
Through the UPSTART programs he has also learned addition, counting money, and tens vs ones.

Playing
Jacob has loved to play with friends this year.
Almost every afternoon he wants a friend to come over while the other kids are napping.

He mastered the balance bike and a two wheeled bike this year.
He learn how to ride the two wheeled bike in just a weekend!

He still loves to color and do art projects.
I'm constantly getting pictures from him.

He is constantly talking and asking questions.
He listens to everything and remembers everything.

Jacob is an amazing brother.
He is always so willing to share and plays so well with Logan and Elsie.
In fact he says Logan is his favorite person to play with and the reasons he asks for friends every afternoon is because Logan is sleeping.
Elsie lights up every time he comes over to see her.
He gets really stressed anytime she cries and it usually causes him to cry.

We are so lucky to have this knowledge loving kid in our family!

EMC:: 7 & 8 Months

Sleeping
Elsie is finally sleeping through the night every night!
She has shifted to a 7pm-7am schedule though since she just stopped sleeping until 8am.
After a few nights of just getting up to roll her onto her back and adjust the water proof pad that she loves to hold while she sucks her thumb she just stopped waking up!

She has dropped the third nap most days.
If her first two naps were shorter she may need a third but most days its just two.
Her naps are about 1.5 hours long.

Feeding
Even though we dropped the third nap I'm still nursing her 5 times a day to try to keep my supply up.
I do have to supplement about 4 oz at bedtime too.
Sometimes she'll also want an extra 2 oz after her second nap.
We've added peas, carrots, yogurt (seemed to make her spit up so we stopped that for now), avocado, mango, and zucchini.
We've tried some finger foods too.
She does okay if its really soft like banana.  Otherwise she has a hard time gumming it.

Playing
Sit is officially sitting up on her own!

She loves to play with new things, especially her brothers' play food.

She is really wiggly and loves to roll all over.

She loves to be worn in the baby carrier.

She has started to get really attached to me.
She will get upset if someone else is holding her but she can see me.

She still loves to interact with everyone and always seems to have her open mouthed smile.

She loves being in the bath but had a funny phase where she hated to be rinsed.
